She Became Me by Jessii Bennett

  A native of Worcester, Massachusetts, raised in a single parent home, Jessii and her family relocated to Cincinnati, Ohio when she was 7. Jessii graduated from Central State Univetsity in 2008 with a B.S in Biology and now resides in Columbus, Ohio where she works for a mail order pharmacy as well as, owns her own online marketing business. She also paints and writes poetry with intentions of writing a few poetry books and starting another business showcasing her artistic talent. Her future plans are to travel the world and help as many people she possibly can.

It wasn’t until I met her…and she showed me who I was…and more important she revealed to me who I wasn’t!

I took my first breath…and finally lived.

She peeled back layers built up from past hurts and pains!!!

She became my shield from battles not yet won…she became my prayers at night when I couldn’t vocalize my deepest desires.

My closest friend when no one was there.

Held my head high when the world dropped me so low.

My blanket of comfort in my loneliest hour.

She became my sanity after years of driving myself crazy.

She became my life.

My One True Love!

She became awesome, loving, and true.

Someone to look up to.

Someone full of purpose, and life.

She became me.

And I love her dearly.
